Used 1985 FJ (BJ) Land Cruiser for sale in Belgrade, MT
Vehicle Description
Canadian export model with the 3B diesel engine (3.4L non turbo model). 517,214 KM (approx. 321,381
miles). This cruiser has the very desirable 5-speed manual transmission. All Canadian models have block heaters as well as a curtain that comes down over the radiator to keep the heat in the engine – these are intact and have been used this last winter.
I’ve owned this cruiser for 5 years and I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles and rotated the tires with every oil change. It has a 2” Old Man Emu lift installed (medium duty springs) with 33” BFG KO2 all terrains. Both added approximately 45,000 miles ago. Last winter I replaced the batteries (there are two). In the last 10,000 miles I have had the Front wheel bearings replaced, the knuckles rebuilt, and new front disk brakes rotors installed. New steering linkage installed, new master cylinder and slave cylinder installed about 20,000 miles ago. Had the compression tested last summer and although I don’t have the numbers anymore, it was within acceptable range.
This old girl has a lot of miles left in her.
Pros: This has one of the nicest, original interiors you will find anywhere. The interior is practically perfect. You can go anywhere in this rig (although you may not go quickly). I have owned this from summer of 2015, I am the third owner. The first and primary owner was an elderly lady in British Columbia, Canada named Beverly.
Cons: There is some rust. Canada… They salt the roads.
