On offer here is a final-year, 1987 El Camino that has been given a tasteful restomod treatment. This Elky’s rock solid body was previously treated to a very high-quality respray in vibrant red. Look up close and in addition to that beautiful coat you’ll notice the arrow-straight body panels as well as the gleaming chrome and stainless steel trim. And you can’t help but notice the subtle but tasteful body mods that include a cowl-induction style hood, small front chin spoiler and 1960’s style, 15-inch Chevy Rally wheels wearing white-letter radials. A “Rhino Linings” spray-in bedliner adds a healthy measure of practicality.
This El Camino sports a brand new 305 V8 by Jasper. Complete with a four-barrel carb and dual exhaust, this beefy 305 makes considerably more power that this Elky had when it left the factory back in ‘87. An automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes (front discs) round out the easy-driving nature of this car/pickup that has plenty of pickup.
Hop inside and you’ll see this El Camino was ordered with almost every option Chevy offered. A plush bench seat with a fold-down center armrest, along with a tilt wheel, cruise control, A/C, power windows, power door locks and an aftermarket AM/FM/CD audio system all provide a luxury car ambiance. The original cloth upholstery as well as the dash, door panels and rest of the interior is in excellent condition.
