Vehicle Description
Professional frame-off custom build by Hot Rod Garage of Sandsprings, OK and upgraded and maintained by Bright Built Hotrods of Salina, KS. Multi-award winner and feature car in Chevy Rumble magazine. A 1983 Chevrolet El Camino Custom powered by a 2004 GTO LS1 (5.7L) topped with a Magnuson Supercharger producing 8 pounds of boost (approximately 450 rear-wheel horse power). Headers are by Street & Performance and are connected to stainless exhaust with custom X-pipe and MagnaFlow exhaust. The engine is cooled by a custom AFCO aluminum radiator paired with SPAL electric fans. Transmission is a 4L65E connected to a narrowed Moser 12-bolt posi rearend with 3.42 gears. Front suspension includes Hotchkiss Performance upper A-arms and oversized sway bar, Belltech 2-inch dropped spindles, and QA1 adjustable shocks. Rails are boxed and powder coated, and additional cross-members are added for stability. Rear suspension includes a Hot Rods to Hell truck arm suspension with QA1 adjustable shocks and jack screw springs. Stopping power is provided by a Baer Track system with 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors. The exterior features an Honest Charley's Monte Carlo nose, ground effects, rear roll pan, and hard deck cover; shaved drip rails; black over cinnamon pearl paint with custom graphics; 5-spoke ET wheels (18x8 in front and 18x9.5 in rear) sporting 245/45/18 tires in front and 285/45/18 on the rear; flush door handles and shaved gas lid (moved to bed). The interior is custom tan leather with black leather inserts; Flaming River Waterfall steering wheel; street rod bucket seats; custom console; Lokar shifter; push-to-start button on console; Vintage Air; Nordskog digital gauges; and, a touch-screen stereo system.
