Used 89 Volkswagen Cabriolet Karmann edition convertible-Sale pending for sale in Windham, ME

Car is technically still available after about 20 no shows, but scheduling viewings in the order that requests are received. Based on level of interest, I’m probably not going to dicker too much on the price. So far, nobody who scheduled a viewing has showed up. If you are not seriously interested, please don’t waste my time.

Karmann edition. All original, third owner. Always been garaged, never seen salt or snow. Runs great (might need a tune up and a battery). It is always on the trickle charger when not in use, but I had a day last summer after it sat a week off the charger where it didn’t start. Not sure if I left something on, or if it just won’t hold a charge long term. No rot anywhere that I am aware of. I am happy to put it up on a set of ramps so you can get under it. Top was in great condition until a mouse chewed a hole in it this winter (grr). I put some duct tape over it for now. Top goes up and down (manually) with little to no effort. The car is clean. It does need a radiator (there is a crack in the top that seeps fluid). AC does not work. AM/FM/cassette deck is live wired so it does not turn off when you shut the car off, LCD display does not work, and the speakers are crackly. There is a belt squealing (I believe it’s the alternator belt because it squeals more when you turn the lights on). I replaced it and it was fine for a while, but now it’s squealing again. White leather interior. Rear seats ok. Front is very worn. I threw some covers on them that I had laying around. Manual transmission shifts perfectly, no issues with the clutch. This is an excellent candidate for a high quality restoration, or put a bit of TLC into it and drive it as is. I have 2 new spare tires and a muffler for it as well. Fun little car. Hate to see it go, but too many toys and not enough room. $2000.
