We call it a Lincoln because that's how we know it today, but classic car fans know the Continental really slots above Lincoln in the hierarchy to be America's Rolls-Royce. And the intricate two-tier chrome grille and wraparound bumper brightly announce that the upper-class has arrived. It has all the right pieces you want on a true classic American machine, including the large fenders, whitewall tires, rear fender skirts, a traditional trunk, and covered spare wheel - a feature so distinctive that it would become the Continental's namesake. Also, speaking of distinction, the burgundy paint is part of a restoration that happened about midway through this car's life thus far. We like the way this presents today. It has the right mix of an elegant hue and a good shine, and there's the right amount of respected use shown so that this doesn't look too "new money" at the better car events. The big steering wheel looks and feels substantial while the center stack holds all the secondary controls, including the AM radio that's there for a display.
